YIHYEH SHALOM

Rick Recht
Ruach 5761
[Rick Recht writes:] Yihyeh Shalom was the first Jewish song I wrote. I knew very little Hebrew at the time which was quite a challenge for an all Hebrew song. Ironically, I later retranslated it and rerecorded Yihyeh Shalom in English on our Shabbat Alive! album because so many people had wanted to sing it both ways. Writing Yihyeh Shalom was very important for me because it helped me realize that I could express myself creatively through writing Jewish music. I had no idea how much my life would change after writing that song! There will be peace one day … Yihyeh shalom ba-olam!
