L'TAKEIN (THE NA NA SONG)
Dan Nichols and e18hteen
Ruach 5761

Music & Text: Dan Nichols & Ron Klotz

[Dan Nichols writes:] In 1994, one of the URJ Goldman Union Camp’s educational themes was tikkun olam – repairing the world. Director Rabbi Ron Klotz wanted to incorporate ritual into the idea of Tikkun Olam, so he wrote the Hebrew blessing: Blessed are You, Adonai, our God, Ruler of the universe, for giving us the opportunity to mend the world. In 1996, Rabbi Adam Morris suggested that I set this blessing to music. The song was inspired by the prayer’s positive message.
