[Peri Smilow writes:] I have always loved this liturgy from our morning worship as it speaks to me of the idea of worshipping God through song and of finding deep and rich happiness by doing so. It was my hope to capture the unique sense of delight and joy experienced by each individual who approaches God through worship. My music, therefore, is comprised of three separate and distinct “voices”, each of which sing God’s praises slightly differently but all of which can be sung together. When sung as it is arranged, the piece begins in a single voice and builds to a feverish crescendo as multiple voices are added – just as our worship begins quietly and introspectively and grows as we revel in our relationship with God.
