Energy, style, and a clear voice with something to say...that's Julie Silver, a shining star in contemporary Jewish music. Through her concerts, her participation in Jewish communities as a guest cantorial soloist, her experience as a youth group songleader, and her excellence as an artist-in-residence, Julie's music has made its way into homes, synagogues, and camps and continues to weave its way into the fabric of American Jewish life.

Few performers engage audiences as quickly or with as much warmth and soul as Julie Silver. Simply put, Julie’s ability to read her audiences combined with her remarkable comic timing makes for an event audiences talk about for weeks -- they always want her to come back! The lingering positive feelings after a Julie Silver event not only come from her pure and expressive voice, but also from her extraordinary professionalism. Her mega-watt smile is infectious, her songs are insightful and memorable, and her stage presence is stimulating.

Julie writes both liturgical-based music as well as new American Jewish ballads that come from the traditions of Joni Mitchell, James Taylor, and Joan Baez, among others. Her style is diverse: introspective and engaging, uplifting and charming, or sweet, fun and endearing. Her music touches people with its beauty and simplicity. An accomplished and lyrical guitar player, Julie leads her listeners on spiritual and emotional journeys.

Julie's 1992 debut album, Together, is full of family music and contains the popular favorites, "Apples and Honey" and "I Am All Around." Her second album, From Strength to Strength, includes the much loved "Sim Shalom" and the energetic "Chazak Chazak. Walk With Me, Julie's third recording, reflects her spiritual growth and maturity in such selections as "Take God With You," "Walk With Me," and "Shir Chadash," which has achieved tremendous success throughout North America. Beyond Tomorrow, showcases Julie's development as a lyricist, and as a talented vocalist with a wide range of musical styles. From the rousing "Asei L'cha Rav" to the thought provoking "I Wish I Could Be You" to the hypnotic "Esa Einai," these compositions demonstrate her diverse talents as a singer/songwriter. Julie's newest Notes From Montana reflects her passion for social justice and integrates her lifelong love of folk and country music with a contemporary pop sound.
