BETH SCHAFER
Beth is a much sought-after teacher and composer of contemporary Jewish music nationwide.
She has been a featured performer at the last 5 CAJE conferences and the last 4 URJ (Union for Reform Judaism) National Biennials as well as on faculty for many camps and conferences including NAA, BBYO and Camp Kutz. Beth is lauded most by fans and colleagues for her guitar playing:
playing (and sometimes shredding) in many different styles on both acoustic and electric guitars.
Beth attended the University of Miami School of Music on a jazz scholarship and has a degree in Theory and Composition. Her music can be found on many compilation CDs representing the best of Jewish music and tours with her band nationwide. Her song “Children of Freedom” which has become a signature American-Jewish anthem will also be the theme in an upcoming PBS special about building bridges between the Arab and Jewish communities. Her folk, rock and alternative influences are very present in her unique and eclectic style. She has 4 CDs and a songbook.
