Josh Nelson is considered one of the preeminent performers and producers in modern Jewish music. A multi-instrumentalist and songwriter, Josh’s music has been celebrated and integrated into the musical consciousness of congregations, camps and communities across the United States.

As a founding member of Yom Hadash, Josh has grasped the opportunity to reach multiple generations of American Jews, inspiring and energizing listeners with his unique guitar and piano styles and powerful voice. A wide variety of musical influences appear in his music, ranging from the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and Motown to Ben Folds, Stevie Wonder, and Miles Davis

Originally a classically trained musician, Josh continues to pursue a Doctoral degree in music while teaching and conducting at Boston University. He lives in Boston with his wife, Debbie, and dog, Ruthie.

Jon Nelson is currently the songleader in residence at the Rashi Day School in Newton, MA. A graduate of the University of Massachusetts and Cambridge College, where he received his M.Ed., Jon plays bass guitar, acoustic guitar and sings lead. Jon and his wife Beth have three children, Evan, Ben Emily. He and his brother Josh compose the band’s original songs.

John Dorizzi grew up in Southern Maine, and studied music at the University of New Hampshire and the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts.

In his previous role as the drummer for the critically acclaimed “Division St.,” John released three albums while constantly touring across the United States. Now a "first-call" studio drummer in Boston, John has developed a powerful and innovative style.

John’s driving backbeat and unique approach to drums and percussion make him a crucial part of the Yom Hadash sound. He lives in Franklin, MA with his wife, Joan.
